PHYSICAL SITE
LONI is located in Neuroscience Research Building 1, occupying 8425 sq. ft. of the building's second floor. This state-of-the-art facility houses faculty offices, collaborative work spaces, a conference room, a super computer room, wet labs and the Data Immersive Visualization Environment.
DATA IMMERSIVE VISUALIZATION ENVIRONMENT (DIVE)
The DIVE is a multipurpose demonstration room, dominated by a 160-degree floor-to-ceiling spherical screen, on which real-time computer graphics, high definition video, or prerecorded demonstrations or slides can be projected.
WET LAB
CRYOSTAT LABORATORY
Sample preparation, fixation, cryoprotection, freezing of the heads and brains, and other wet bench activities are carried out in a laboratory located at LONI.
CRYOMACHROTOME LABORATORY:
Fixing and cryoprotecting the heads and brains and other wet bench activities are carried out in the wet lab.
OPTICAL LAB
The optical laboratory contains all the equipment necessary for conducting optically based brain imaging experiments in rodent and human subjects.
