Paul Thompson, a professor of neurology and member of the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging, was featured in the September issue of Harvard Magazine concerning his research into how a brain matures. Thompson’s time-lapse images show that different areas of the brain mature at different rates, which helps explain many of the intellectual and emotional changes seen in children, teens and young adults. Thompson used MRI imaging taken repeatedly over years to record developmental milestones.
