CCB: Project: Integrated Brain Image Segmentation Tools

    • Project Summary: The overall goal of this project is to develop easy-to-use, robust and practical tools for brain image segmentation. The initial goal is to integrate all CCB Level-sets based automated skull-stripping, segmentation and detection algorithms/tools and provide these accessible with various Java interactive editing tools within the LONI Anatomist, SHIVA and LONI_Viz. This should enable practical skull-stripping of brain MR volumes via a GUI interface using any of the CCB level-set based approaches (e.g., MLS, multi-phase (Igor/Stan), multi-layer (Luminita/Jason), etc.) All of the software will be written as stand-alone Java plug-ins, be Open Source and fully documented so that other users may extend them as needed.
