- Product Sheet review
- CD Rom Review
- Future plans
- Other
Discussed
- Virtual File System Brower now times out at 30 seconds, instead of hanging the application.
- CCB should have it's own Certificate. Now would be a good time to request this from Rico, cost is $200-$300/yr.
- The shape viewer applet now displays only files explictly listed in the web page hosting the applet.
- The viewer applet is is not included in either CDROM or Software Download distributions.
- Shape Viewer color map issues still exist.
- We'll need an OFF format writer, as it is widely used.
- Future work might include
- simple viewer class, callable from java, Matlab, C, C++
- calculations to support determination of neighbors using geodesic distances
- calculations to find point on a (triangulated) suface that is closet to a given point.
- support for parallel processing of computationally intensive algorithms.
- tools to compute the curvature of a surface at each surface vertext.
- Dates of future import for CCB
- April 2006 - finalize all CCB year 1 efforts.
- May 2006 - CCB Advisory board meeting
- Estimates of time & effort needed to fully document ShapeTools library.
- A neuroimaging paper would publicize the tools and answer questions about their use.
- "Digital Geometry Processing" topics cover many items of interest to us.
- Initial interest in ShapeTools is likely to focus on the file readers and writers it provides.
- Use of Mantis to track problems
- A ShapeViewer presentation to the CCB using the LONI Dive and with an (outdoor) reception following.
- An effective way to develop documentation is to answer all questions by referering the questioner to (updated) written documentation.
Decisions
- Distribute the shape viewer applet as a software product separate from the ShapeViewer application.
- Implement an OFF format shape writer
- [ ] - Craig - Off writer
- [ ] - Craig - Applet shape viewer software download distribution
- [X] - Craig - final touch up to Software products handout - typos, add Matlab, java3d reference.
- [ ] - Craig - Compile R for SGI (if possible).
- [ ] - Craig - test pipeline wrapper for ShapeViewer
- [X] - Craig - define a starter project for Bae Cheol.
- [X] - Jeff - add ShapeViewer code to CVS if not already done.
- [X] - Jeff - add VFSBrowser code to CVS if not already done.
