Research My research focuses on high-angular resolution diffusion imaging (HARDI). HARDI methods are an extension of classical diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging (DT-MRI or DTI) methods which utilize diffusion-weighted MR measurements to reconstruct spin diffusivity profiles in vivo. These reconstructions can then be used to infer fiber orientation and thereby gross white matter architecture using tractography algorithms. I study various aspects of HARDI reconstruction and analysis, ranging from improving approaches for fiber orientation recovery to generating more flexible and meaningful tractography results. Furthermore, I'm investigating the utility of DTI and HARDI as a diagnostic aid in certain patient populations. Groups Tools
