Imaging Computer images show the progressive damage of Alzheimer's disease in the human brain. The images are derived from M.R.I. scans of 12 patients, made over two years. Researchers used computers to synthesize the data, creating one generalized view of the disease's progress. The sequence shows that areas involved with memory were damaged first, then structures involved with emotion and control of behavior. |
