Dynamic Brain Maps: Mapping Brain Changes in Schizophrenia
These animations show a spreading wave of gray matter loss, in adults with schizophrenia,
during a 1-year
period following the first episode of psychosis.
Different trajectories are shown for patients treated with haloperidol and
for patients treated with olanzapine. Changes are not uniform over time,
and are measured from MRI scans collected 0, 3, 6 and 12 months after the onset of psychotic
symptoms.
